What is the program?
The program stems from Supervised Neighborhood Play, a home-based Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Program that serves as an alternative to day care services while utilizing play and various enrichment activities stimulating the psychosocial development of a child. Each round of teaching lasts six months and takes place once a week. Nutrition and growth is also measured, including monthly evaluations that monitor the weight and health of the children.
Where and how does it work?
The need for education and food provided to children who cannot afford it is primarily larger in developing countries. This program currently operates in the Philippines, through volunteer elementary level teachers who want to make a difference in the lives of the children in their communities.
How can I help?
Donate today and spread the word. Donations made to Nourish the Children will go towards providing more food and school supplies for each semester of classes.
*The option to sponsor a specific child’s school supplies and/or class meals, as well as keeping up with their personal growth and health will be coming soon.
